For over 25 years I have been doing calligraphy and art. I have been a member of the the Houston Calligraphy Society, and am now a member of the Philadelphia Calligraphers’ Society. My work has been exhibited publicly in Houston and Philadelphia, and I have appeared in the Princeton Packet (Princeton, NJ newspaper). I have lectured in New Jersey, New York, and Delaware on a number of topics, including Hebrew calligraphy, Jewish genealogy, and scientific literature in Yiddish. Among my hobbies are singing, conducting, and arranging Jewish choral music (now available from Transcontinental Music), plus speaking the Yiddish language at home. I have published academic papers and articles on a variety of themes, including the history of the Haggadah, scientific literature in Yiddish, and insuring calligraphy. Some other links of interest Philadelphia Calligraphers’ Society, an organization (of which I am a member) dedicated to the art of calligraphy. Ketubot by Deborah Kaplan, http://www.deborahkaplancalligraphy.com/Ketubot.html Houston Calligraphy Guild, a society of which I was a member when I was in graduate school.
